WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with chiefs of defence from the Five Eyes nations (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States) today by video teleconference.
Gen. Brown, Australia Chief of the Defence Force Gen. Angus Campbell, Canada Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Wayne Eyre, New Zealand Defence Force Chief of Defence Air Marshal Kevin Short, and United Kingdom Vice Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Gwyn Jenkins discussed the global security environment and opportunities for advancing defense cooperation.
The leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to addressing challenges to international rules and norms. The Five Eyes defense partnership is undergirded by shared values of democracy, freedom, and the rule of law.
