WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with Chief of the Israeli General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi by phone March 27.
The two leaders discussed current security conditions in the Middle East, including an update on the situation in Gaza as well as U.S. and international efforts to increase the flow of humanitarian aid delivery to civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.
The United States recognizes Israel’s right to defend itself while also emphasizing the need to protect innocent civilians and ensure unfettered access for deliveries of critical humanitarian aid.
The United States and Israel are strong partners committed to regional security and peace in the Middle East.
