WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with French Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Thierry Burkhard today by phone.
The leaders discussed the current security environment in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. The United States and France continue to stand firmly with Ukraine, collaborate in the Red Sea to protect international shipping lanes, and work together with our African partners to promote regional security.
Gen. Brown and Gen. Burkhard also exchanged views on potential opportunities for security collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region where U.S. and European partners seek to advance a shared vision for peace, stability, and prosperity.
The long-standing military alliance between the United States and France is essential to security and stability around the world.
