WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with Chief of the Israeli General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi today by phone.
The two leaders discussed the current security situation in the Middle East, including Israel’s ongoing operations in Gaza and regional tensions. Gen. Brown reaffirmed ironclad commitment to Israel’s security while emphasizing the need to protect innocent civilians in Gaza and ensure the timely delivery of humanitarian aid through all possible avenues.
The United States seeks to deescalate tensions across the Middle East region in close cooperation with international allies and partners.
