WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with Chief of the Israeli General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi today by video teleconference.
The two leaders discussed the current security situation in the Middle East, including Israel’s ongoing operations in Gaza and regional atmospherics.
General Brown reaffirmed the United States’ ironclad commitment to Israel’s security while also underscoring the urgent need to protect innocent civilians and increase humanitarian assistance to Gaza through all possible avenues.
The United States seeks to deescalate tensions across the Middle East region and establish lasting security and stability in close cooperation with international allies and partners.
