WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., met with Senegal Chief of the General Staff of Armed Forces Gen. M’baye Cisse in Gaborone, Botswana today.
The leaders discussed joint efforts to promote regional stability and security in West Africa and beyond, including increasing immediate and long-term capabilities to address terrorist threats and prevent the spread of violent extremism.
Senegal is an important partner of the United States in promoting peace and security in West Africa.
