WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., met with Nigeria Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa in Gaborone, Botswana today.
Gen. Brown and Gen. Musa exchanged views on the current security environment in Africa. The leaders also discussed joint efforts to promote security and stability in the region, including increasing cooperation on maritime and border security, and counterterrorism efforts.
The United States and Nigeria are strong security partners committed to fostering regional stability and enhancing collective security efforts.
