Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., met with Japan Chief of Staff, Joint Staff General Yoshihide Yoshida today in Tokyo.
The two military leaders discussed ongoing efforts to improve military coordination between the U.S. and Japan, and to strengthen security cooperation among regional allies.
Gen. Brown additionally expressed his gratitude for Japan hosting the United States-Japan-Republic of Korea Trilateral Chiefs of Defense Meeting.
The U.S. - Japan Alliance remains the cornerstone of our regional security strategy to maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific.
