WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., met Chilean Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Vice Adm. Pablo Niemann Figari today in Santiago as part of the South American Defense Conference 24.
The two military leaders discussed the U.S.-Chile defense relationship, and continued cyber and space cooperation between both countries. Additionally, Gen. Brown thanked Vice Adm. Figari for hosting this week’s South American Defense Conference, as well as the UNITAS 24 and SOUTHERN VANGUARD 25 exercises.
Chile remains one the most important strategic allies in Latin America and plays a key role in ensuring a Western Hemisphere that is democratic, prosperous and secure.
