WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., met Brazilian Joint Staff Chief of Strategic Affairs Adm. Arthur Fernando Bettega Corrêa yesterday in Santiago as part of the South American Defense Conference 24.
During the engagement, Gen. Brown expressed appreciation for Brazil’s strategic partnership as a major Non-NATO ally, commended Brazil as regional leader in security and voiced anticipation of the Reciprocal Defense Procurement Agreement.
The U.S. continues to closely partner with Brazil and remains committed to maintaining a relationship founded upon shared strategic interests and democratic values.
