WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with Chief of the Israeli General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi yesterday by phone.
Gen. Brown and Lt. Gen. Halevi discussed the implementation of the Lebanon ceasefire, current events in Syria and the delivery of humanitarian assistance into Gaza.
The U.S. continues to coordinate with Israel to improve regional security and protect U.S. forces in the Middle East.
